Welcome to Elm Grove!

AR Due Tuesday, May 15

Students must read and test on at least three books in or above his/her reading level this nine weeks.  I will take the three highest AR test scores to average together for a grade.

Students must also reach or exceed their nine week point goal according to their STAR test.

Out of the Dust and Number the Stars may count as two of the three books.

AR Tips for Parents

  • Students should read for at least 15-20 minutes every day.  I allow some time in class.
  • Parents can receive an email the moment the student takes a test on AR!  To register for this beneficial service, go to www.bossierschools.org. On the right side in the blue column is a link to AR Home Connect.  Click on this link, login your student using his or her first and last name with a space between and then the student ID number.  The ID number is on the student’s School Loop information.  After logging in, look at the top, and click on Email Setup.  You may set up to six people to receive the email about the AR tests.
  • AR Home Connect is the easiest way to check your students AR goal progress from anywhere!
  • You can discover if any book is on our AR list by going to www.bossierschools.org. On the right side in the blue column is a link to AR Bookfinder.  Click on this link, identify yourself as student, parent, teacher, or librarian and submit.  You can search for book titles based on authors, topics, or titles of books. Just type what you want to search for in the blank field and click Go. You will then be able to sort your search results, select book titles to add to your AR Book Bag, print a list of your search results, or start a new search.  There are also three more tabs available:  Advanced Search, Collections, and Textbooks.
