Dress Code

Eagle Dress Code

Students are expected to present themselves in a neat, well-groomed manner during the school day.  This includes all school functions and the bus.  Nothing relative to appearance or behavior that is a distraction to the learning environment will be tolerated.  Violations are reported to the office daily.

 

 

Shirts -

  1. White, red, navy, light blue, long or short-sleeved polo style shirts or white, light blue,, long or short-sleeved oxford shirts may be worn.  Long-sleeved t-shirts and turtlenecks in uniform colors are acceptable.  No other garment of any style is acceptable.  Shirts are always worn tucked in.  No more than 2 buttons may be unbuttoned on shirts.  Shirts that are too short to be tucked in will not be worn.
  2. Shirts designated as Elm Grove spirit shirts may be worn any day of the week.

 

Bottoms -

  1. Approved uniform slacks or shorts, navy or khaki may be worn.  Uniform slacks do not have pockets or zippers on the outside of the garment.  Bottoms must be fully hemmed.  Jeans of any style or color are not allowed.  Uniform pants do not have a drawstring at the waist.  In addition to slacks and shorts, girls may also wear navy or khaki Capri pants and skirts; they may also wear uniform approved red/navy pleated skirts.  Length of shorts and skirts must be no shorter than the end of students' fingertips when arms are held straight down at their side and no longer than mid calf.

 

Outerwear:

  1. Solid navy blue waist-length jackets, coats and sweaters with no labels or brand names may be worn.  Elm Grove Letter Jackets and spirit jackets designated by school organizations and hoodies sold annually by the PTO may also be worn.  No other outerwear will be allowed on campus.  No hoodies will be worn under clothing.  Students will not wear hoods in the building.

 

Other Dress Code Regulations-

  1. No logos. labels, or name brands may be visible on any uniform garment.
  2. Uniforms and outerwear must fit properly.  No sagging or oversized clothing is allowed.
  3. Pants will be worn at the waist.
  4. Belts are required, must fit in all the loops, and must be visible with a shirt tucked in.  Belt style should not create a distraction.  Belt buckles should not be oversized, ornamental, or electronic.  Belt buckles should not display inappropriate or suggestive language or symbols.
  5. Shoes must be worn at all times.  Shoes with eyelets will be laced.  Velcro straps on shoes will be fastened properly at all times.  No slip-on sport sandals, beach shoes, or house   shoes are allowed.  Socks must be worn with all shoes except sandals, and they should not display logos or labels.
  6. Students should not have tattoos or body piercings or wear sweatbands or oversized jewelry.
  7. Earrings will not be worn by boys.  Girls should not wear loop or wire earrings that exceed 1/4" in diameter.  (That is no larger or longer than a quarter).
  8. Beards, mustaches, or goatees are not acceptable for students.  Hair must be cut or styled to stay out of students' eyes.
