World War II Veteran W. V. Hines visits Elm Grove! We feel honored and privileged to have had WWII veteran Mr. W. V. Hines visit us! Mr. Hines served in the Battle of the Bulge during WWII. He described to the A.I.M. students his experiences that began December 16, 1944. Mr. Hines began and finished this battle. It is not a memory he enjoys sharing, but told us he feels obligated to tell his story to students so that future generations will not forget. Mr. Hines is a decorated war veteran and has even received the highest war veteran honor from France for his service in this battle and war. Mr. Hines told the students about his time on the front lines, the friends he lost who fought right beside him, and his appreciation for having survived several near death experiences during the battle. He then took the students out to see his World War II jeep and its accessories. We are so thankful for this wonderful war veteran and the experience of listening to his explanation of fighting in this battle. Because of Mr. Hines, we will never forget this time in America's history.
